About Animals around the world
Animals Around the World is an interactive map showing 1,500 animal species across 212 countries. Pick an animal—panda, flamingo, whale shark—and see everywhere you can find it. Or pick a country and discover what wildlife is worth seeing there. We built it because wildlife trips get planned backwards. You book a hotel, then wonder what animals you might see. You search for "where can I see pandas" and spend an hour reading blogs. You don't know if that endangered species you want to see is only in one country, or if the park you found is ethical. This solves that. Filter by species type (mammal, bird, reptile, insect), conservation status (endangered, vulnerable, least-concern), and how you'll observe them (wild, national park, diving, safari). The map shows exact locations. Click a country and see every animal you can encounter there, plus park links and best viewing months. Click an animal and see all countries where it exists. Two modes: Animal (search panda → see countries) or Destination (search Peru → see animals). Both are instant, URL-shareable, and lossless—switch modes and keep your filters. For travelers: discover what's actually worth traveling for, find endemic species (only in that country), avoid unethical sanctuaries by filtering for "wild" only, align trips with animal activity months.
