About Everyday Parks

Everyday Parks is a mobile app for finding nearby public parks and choosing the right place for ordinary, real-world visits. The problem it solves is simple: generic map apps are built around every type of place at once, so finding a useful park can require too much searching, tapping, and guessing. A parent may want a playground and restroom. A dog owner may want a public park with dog-friendly areas. Someone on a walk, road trip, or lunch break may just want to know what parks are nearby and if there's a table to eat at. Everyday Parks is designed around those decisions instead of treating parks as one more generic search result. The app shows nearby public parks on a park-focused interactive map. From the map, users can scan quick-look park cards, compare useful details, and open a dedicated park screen before they go. Park pages can include mapped amenities such as playgrounds, restrooms, picnic areas, benches, grills, drinking water, parking, dog parks, pools, splash pads, sports courts, fields, viewpoints, and fishing spots when that information is available in the underlying map data. The app also supports filters so users can narrow results to the features they care about rather than manually opening every park nearby. Everyday Parks is especially useful for quick outings, neighborhood walks, family time, dog walks, travel-day stops, and casual planning in unfamiliar areas. It is not trying to be a social network, a full hiking platform, or a bloated trip planner. The goal is to answer practical questions quickly: What parks are near me? What is likely there? Is this park a good fit for today? How do I get there or share it with someone else? The app uses OpenStreetMap-based park and amenity data for public park discovery in the United States, with data refreshed regularly. Because public map data varies by area, the app presents available information clearly while avoiding the promise that every park will have every detail. It is built to be simple, privacy-conscious, and low-friction: no account is required, and location is used to support nearby park discovery when the user allows it. Everyday Parks is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android. The free app includes ads, while Premium removes ads and unlocks more advanced filtering and added in-park tools to help users orient themselves while exploring.

As a dog owner I always end up scrolling Maps hoping fenced areas exist. Filtering parks by real amenities from OSM β€” without forcing an account β€” solves a problem I hit every weekend. Fair price to drop ads too.

I'm excited to have an app that can find parks and their amenities all across the United States! I wrote it to use myself in my own daily life and with my friends.
