Instead you may try guided cognitive shuffling like thing in our app. Fastsleep.app is like a guided cognitive shuffling app. In simple terms cognitive shuffling is to think about unrelated things such as white cat, tall mountain etc. You may find this useful if you want to sleep instead of night time overthinking, mind racing, insomnia etc. You may do it like: Choose a word (Example River) > Imagine words which start with the first letter (R) > Then go to the second letter... like this. But this may be relatively tough for you. Instead you may take easier way: Guided Cognitive Shuffling. Guided cognitive shuffling maybe like, you hear something and you imagine that. Some current texts from the app: How to use Turn off the lights and press Start. Close your eyes, listen to the audio phrases and imagine them. Imagine what you hear. Like if you hear "calm river", imagine that. If you hear "heavy rain over a tree" imagine that. In the app you may choose session duration and gap between audios. Simple but seems like it could be effective. I'd love to see an iOS app. I know, I know, you're supposed to turn off your phone before bed but I'd rather use an app than a webpage.

This may sound crazy but if I'm working on an app before bed, I go to sleep thinking about bugs or new ideas and I can't stop. I never heard of this technique to "clear your mind" before sleep but now I'm intrigued.
