Navsy is a travel planning and expense tracking app built for people who actually travel—not just dream about it.
Most travel apps fall into two camps: beautiful Pinterest boards that don't help you execute, or clunky spreadsheets that make planning feel like work. Navsy sits in the middle. It's practical enough to handle the real logistics of multi-destination trips, but designed to actually be enjoyable to use.
The core problem
Planning a trip shouldn't require five different apps. You end up with flights in one place, accommodations in another, a budget spreadsheet somewhere else, and a shared doc for the itinerary. Nothing talks to each other. When you're actually traveling, you're digging through screenshots and browser tabs to figure out what's next.
And expense tracking? Most people give up after day two. The friction of logging every coffee and cab ride in a foreign currency is just too high.
How Navsy works
You start by creating a trip. Add your destinations and dates. Navsy automatically organizes everything into a timeline you can actually follow.
For each destination, you can build out a day-by-day itinerary. Drag activities around, mark things as confirmed or tentative, add notes and booking references. The interface adapts whether you're planning months ahead or checking what's next while standing on a street corner in Tokyo.
Expenses work the same way—designed for real travel, not perfect record-keeping. Log costs in any currency, and Navsy converts everything to your home currency automatically. You can snap a photo of a receipt, categorize spending, and see running totals without opening a spreadsheet.
Pre-trip purchases (flights, visas, travel insurance) have their own section. So when you want to know the true cost of a trip, it's all in one place.
AI features that actually help
Navsy includes AI-powered tools that do useful things, not gimmicks:
- Budget Estimator: Get realistic daily budget estimates for any destination based on your travel style
- Trip Insights: Receive personalized suggestions based on your itinerary, dates, and preferences
- Packing Lists: Generate smart packing lists that account for your destinations, duration, and activities
- Expense Categorization: Automatically categorize expenses based on description and context
These features are built to save you time on the tedious parts so you can focus on the actual trip.
Multi-currency made simple
If you've ever traveled across multiple countries on one trip, you know the currency chaos. Euros in one city, pounds in another, random ATM withdrawals you forgot about.
Navsy handles this automatically. Set your home currency once, and every expense converts in real-time using actual exchange rates. You always know exactly how much you've spent in terms that matter to you.
Collaboration that works
Traveling with others? Share your trip with fellow travelers. Everyone can add to the itinerary, log expenses, and stay in sync. No more "wait, where are we staying tomorrow?" texts.
You can also share trips publicly as travel guides. Built an amazing two-week Japan itinerary? Turn it into a template others can use.
Built by someone who travels
Navsy isn't built by a VC-funded team trying to capture the "travel market." It's built by a solo developer who was frustrated with the existing options.
Every feature exists because it solved a real problem. The app stays focused because there's no pressure to add features just to justify a valuation.

Hey! I'm the solo dev behind Navsy. Built it after tracking expenses on a Thailand trip with Notes + Excel. Happy to answer any questions about the app or the build journey.
