I’m a solo developer working on a simple service request system for mobile use, for blue and white collar workers like plumbers, painters, landscapers, handymen, mobile detailers, artists, animators, 3D modelers, and basically anyone who provides a service.
This SaaS system has all the power of a service request system made for the IT industry, but made to feel more natural, and friendly for field work and creative jobs.
So far, I’ve built:
- Customer-facing portals to accept requests
- Services that you/ai defines that supports your work
- Request tickets
- Reoccurring request tickets
- Auto routing tasks to teams / users
- Job Site Notes
- Pre-Job Checklists
- Job Scheduling
- Estimates + Invoicing
- Attachments & Photos
- Smart reminders
- Notifications
- Team collaboration
- Customer-facing ticket to keep track of their requests
It’s lightweight, runs in a browser, phone, or table and is designed for folks who are too busy working to mess around with software.
Today I’m reworking how Services are created in WorkWillow.
The old click-and-done flow didn't test well -users wanted more guidance. The new version brings in an AI co-pilot to help build Services step by step, tailored to how each business actually works.

Surprised by My Own SaaS: What Building a Workflow Library Taught Me
Between yesterday and today I worked on building out a library of niche service workflows to help show how my SaaS can solve real-world problems. I'll have to say, as being as intimate and close with the project as I have been, there were some really big surprises that came out of the session. The fact that it can go from supporting RV park maintenance to interview scheduling shows how versatile this project is and why I had such a hard time locking down my ICP.
These are real pain-points people deal with every day. It boggled me that it could even support other SaaS products by being an instant Service portal for their products with near 0 friction. Like it was right in front of me and I missed a potential ICP.

Added Job Scheduling, Item Checklists, and Notes -WorkWillow is Almost Ready for the Real World
This week’s update makes WorkWillow more field-ready than ever.
We've added three key features that bring serious utility to blue-collar workers, solo operators, and small teams:
- Job Scheduling
You can now create calendar events directly from your request tickets. Whether it’s a one-time job or a follow-up, you can plan your work right inside the system with day, week, and month views to stay organized.
- Item Checklists (Per Event)
Each scheduled event now supports a checklist of required tools or materials. Need 4 bags of concrete mix and a level for the next job? Add them to the event so nothing gets forgotten. Acquired status helps reduce wasted trips and delays.
- Request Notes
Attach job-specific notes like gate codes, parking rules, or pet warnings directly to the request. Add as many as you need. Tag them for clarity "Access Info," "Customer Quirk," etc.
This update reinforces what WorkWillow is all about:
A lightweight, mobile-friendly system that respects your time and your business.
Built with solo tradespeople, field workers, and service-based creatives in mind, WorkWillow keeps your jobs, customers, and team aligned in one place without the bloat.
