About DeckdOut
If you've ever spent an evening tailoring your resume for a job, hit submit, and then heard nothing back — you know how demoralising that loop gets. DeckdOut started from that exact frustration. Not "why isn't my resume good enough?" but "why can't I tell what the gap even is?" You're applying blind, guessing which skills to emphasise, rewriting the same bullet points slightly differently each time and hoping something sticks. We built DeckdOut to fix that. --- It's a Chrome extension that works directly on job listing pages — LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Workday, Seek, ZipRecruiter, and 14 others. You upload your resume once. Then whenever you're on a job page, you click Analyse and within seconds you get: • A match score (0–100) showing how well your resume fits that specific role • The exact keywords the JD is looking for that your resume is missing • Your genuine strengths for this position — not generic ones, specific ones • Suggested edits to close the gap • A cover letter written in your voice, for this job • A coaching note pointing out what to address before you apply No tab-switching. No copying and pasting job descriptions into other tools. It all happens right where you're already reading the listing. --- The problem with most resume tools is they're general-purpose. They'll tell you to "use more action verbs" or "quantify your impact" — advice that applies to everyone, so it helps no one in particular. DeckdOut compares your resume against the actual job you're looking at. The feedback is specific to that role, that company, that set of requirements. Missing "stakeholder management" from a product manager role? It'll catch it. Strong on React but the JD emphasises backend? It'll flag it. Applying for a senior role but your resume reads junior? It'll tell you exactly why. --- For anyone applying to more than a handful of jobs, the time savings alone are meaningful. Instead of spending 30 minutes tweaking each application hoping you've covered the right bases, you get a clear picture in under a minute. You can filter out poor matches before you invest time in them, and double down on roles where you're genuinely competitive. --- Beyond the core analysis, there are tools for the full job search process: ATS Resume — rewrites your resume to pass applicant tracking systems for a specific role, exported as a clean .docx or PDF Interview Pack — generates likely interview questions for the role along with coached answers based on your background Skill Recommendations — shows you exactly which skills to learn or highlight to become a stronger candidate for the types of roles you're targeting Job Tracker — a Kanban board on your dashboard to manage every application in one place. Move cards from Saved → Applied → Interview → Offer → Rejected with drag and drop, add notes to each role, and actually see where your pipeline stands instead of losing track in a spreadsheet Application History — keeps a record of every job you've analysed so you can track your pipeline and spot patterns over time Company Research — gives you quick context on the company directly from the job page before you apply Cover Letter — written to match the tone of the role (professional, friendly, or concise) and tailored to the actual job description, not a template --- DeckdOut is free to try. The free plan covers 3 analyses per week — enough to evaluate whether it's useful before you commit to anything. Pro unlocks daily limits, ATS resumes, interview packs, skill recommendations, and unlimited history. --- A note on how it works: the analysis is powered by AI, running through a backend that never stores your resume beyond the session. Your resume is used to generate the analysis and then discarded. No training on your data. --- We're a small team building this because we've been on both sides of the hiring process and we know how opaque it feels from the applicant's side. You put in real effort and you get silence back. The least we can do is make the feedback loop shorter and more honest. If you're in a job search right now — active or exploratory — give it a try. It installs in 30 seconds and the first analysis is free. Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/deckdout/oplpmifnhjdkhpjbiicfpinopailnjah Website: https://www.deckdout.net

Built this after a friend applied to 60+ jobs and heard nothing back. DeckdOut shows exactly how your resume matches a specific role - missing keywords, strengths, what to fix. Questions welcome!
