Job Search Assistant (JSA) is a job search platform that fixes the broken search experience on major job boards. Instead of showing you irrelevant positions, JSA uses LLMs and semantic vector search to match jobs that actually fit your resume and preferences.
The Problem:
Major platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed have terrible search despite huge resources. Search for "senior backend engineer" and you'll get frontend internships in the top results. They optimize for engagement, not relevance.
The Solution:
- Upload your resume (PDF, DOCX, ODT, or Markdown)
- AI parses and understands your experience, skills, and preferences
- Semantic vector search finds jobs that truly match your profile
- Filters let you refine results (skills, salary, remote/hybrid, etc.)
- Clean interface with no noise - only fresh jobs (15-day retention)
- Freemium model: essential features free, paid tier adds kanban-style application tracking
Current Status:
- Open alpha
- Amsterdam and Paris only (for now)
- Built over 2.5 years by (almost) solo developer
- Used daily by the creator for real job hunting
- Expansion to EU planned based on demand
Why JSA?
- Better matching than incumbents
- Simple and fast
- AI as a tool, not as interface
- No cloud, self-hosted
- Kanban style job applications tracking
- Built by someone who actually uses it to find work
