About NestTrack

NestTrack is a web app built for people in the middle of a house or apartment search — specifically for the moment when the search has gotten serious enough that browser tabs, screenshots, and mental notes are no longer cutting it. The problem it solves House hunting generates a surprising amount of information across too many channels at once. You're bookmarking Zillow listings, screenshotting Craigslist posts, texting your partner photos, scribbling notes after showings, and trying to remember which apartment had in-unit laundry and which one was two blocks from the train. By the time you're evaluating five or six options seriously, the information is scattered and the comparisons get fuzzy. NestTrack is built to fix that. How it works The core flow is simple: you take a screenshot of any listing — from Zillow, Redfin, Craigslist, Apartments.com, or anywhere else — and upload it to NestTrack. The AI reads the screenshot and automatically populates a structured listing card with the details it can see: price, address, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, square footage, property type, parking situation, laundry, pet policy, available date, deposit, and more. Walk Score, transit score, and bike score are fetched automatically for the address. The result is a clean, complete card with no manual data entry. From there, users can add their own notes — impressions from a showing, questions to ask the landlord, things they noticed that weren't in the listing. They can tag listings as favorites, set a status (New, Interested, Toured, Applied, Passed), log the date and time of an upcoming showing, and add the landlord or agent's contact information. Organization and comparison The dashboard gives users a filterable, sortable view of everything they're tracking. Filters include price range, number of bedrooms, walk score minimum, transit score minimum, listing type (buy or rent), status, pet-friendliness, parking type, laundry situation, and whether a tour is scheduled. Sort options include price, walk score, square footage, date added, tour date, and a personal 1–10 rating. There's both a list view and a map view, and a detail panel for each listing shows all stored information alongside the user's notes and tags. Tour reminders When a user logs a tour date for a listing, NestTrack sends them an email reminder the night before the showing. The reminder includes the full listing details — address, price, scores, amenities — as well as the user's own notes and the landlord's contact information, so everything they need is in one place before they walk in the door. Pricing NestTrack is designed around the reality that house hunts end. Rather than a recurring subscription, access is sold as a one-time purchase tied to the length of the search: one month for $9, three months for $19, or six months for $29. There's no auto-renewal. New users get a seven-day free trial with no credit card required. When a trial or paid period ends, the account becomes read-only — listings and notes are preserved and visible, but no new listings can be added until access is extended. Nothing is ever deleted. Who it's for NestTrack is most useful for renters in competitive urban markets, first-time homebuyers navigating a longer search process, and anyone relocating for work who needs to evaluate options quickly and systematically. It's also useful for couples or roommates searching together, since the shared listing view means both people are working from the same information rather than two separate sets of screenshots and memories. What it doesn't do NestTrack is a tracker, not a portal. It doesn't surface new listings or connect users to agents — it organizes the listings users are already finding on their own. It also doesn't schedule tours directly with landlords or agents; it helps users log and remember the tours they've arranged themselves, and sends reminders before they happen. Technical details NestTrack is a web-based progressive web app, meaning it can be installed to a phone's home screen and used at showings without a native app download. It's built on a React frontend with a Next.js API layer and Supabase for authentication and data storage. Authentication is passwordless — users sign in via a magic link sent to their email, with no password required. Payments are handled through Stripe.

This tool was inspired by a friend's recent house hunt. Dozens of listings, so much to keep track of. I created NestTrack as a solution to this problem. Hope you find it useful in your own house hunt!
